NUS-Sciences Po DDP

NUS College, together with the College of Humanities and Sciences at NUS, has partnered with Sciences Po to offer a four-year undergraduate Double Degree Programme (DDP). This programme allows you to obtain:

  • A Bachelor of Arts/Social Sciences (Honours), conferred by NUS, Singapore, and
  • A Bachelor of Arts, conferred by Sciences Po, France.

This programme was specially designed to marry the complementary, yet distinct strengths of both universities – with Sciences Po’s broad-based, liberal, and multidisciplinary education in the arts and social sciences, and NUS’ globally top ranking majors from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

You will also enroll in classes at NUS College to extend your multi- and interdisciplinary studies through residential learning.

Programme Structure

Admission to this four-year undergraduate programme will be jointly conducted by Sciences Po and NUS. As part of the DDP, you will be considered a student of both institutions and will thus be required to fulfil the continuation and graduation requirements of both universities.

As a DDP student, you will spend your first two years in Sciences Po at your selection of one* of their three regional campuses. The programme on each campus also focuses on a specific geopolitical region:

  • Le Havre campus with its Euro-Asian programme;
  • Menton campus with its Middle-Eastern and Mediterranean programme; or
  • Reims campus with its Euro-American programme

Each of these campuses are small, intimate, and international – with classes largely taught in English.

For the remaining two years, you will then continue your studies at NUS; in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at the College of Humanities and Sciences (CHS), and in NUS College. The programme is exclusively compatible with the following FASS majors:*

  • Economics
  • History
  • Political Science
  • Sociology

In both years at NUS, you will reside at one of the NUS College residential wings at NUS University Town, granting you access to many out-of-the-classroom opportunities and experiences.

Across the four years, you will be supported by a joint DDP committee made up of coordinators from both universities that will help advise, guide, and track your progress at all stages of study.

Once you’ve successfully completed the specific requirements of both universities, you will earn two separate degrees – a Bachelor of Arts Degree conferred by Sciences Po and a Bachelor of Arts/Social Sciences (Honours) Degree conferred by NUS. You will also earn a certificate showing that you’ve completed NUS College in NUS.

To learn more about the two parts of the DDP, please refer to:

*Students must indicate their preferred choice of Sciences Po campus and choice of major at the point of application. Students who have been successfully offered the DDP are expected to continue with their choices throughout the four years.

Academic and Degree Requirements

In order to complete the DDP, you must complete classes totalling 273 European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) or 182 Units.

Of these academic units, a minimum of 135 ECTS (equivalent to 90 Units) should be completed at Sciences Po during the first two years, and a minimum of 92 Units (equivalent to 138 ECTS) should be completed at NUS during the final two years.

As a DDP student, you will be expected to maintain strong grades throughout your candidature. Marks and grades from Sciences Po are converted to the NUS grading system, and you will need to maintain the equivalent of the NUS Grade Point Average of 4.0 (out of 5.0) in order to continue in the DDP and be awarded with both degrees at the end of the four years.
