Frequently asked questions

Start NOW!

Start NOW! includes two Zoom events on the 7th and 25th July. While in between, your group will enroll in an adventure-style online game by completing daily tasks to earn coins. (Shhhh, I heard somewhere that you’ll get to meet NUSC’s newest otter friend too!)

Fret not, these daily tasks only take up a few minutes at a time. Most tasks also do not require all participants to be present at the same time. Some are divided into smaller tasks throughout the day, so if you are not around for the first one you can always help out with the second. Others may require each member to individually contribute, so you can do it on your own time!

The main programme between 7th and 25th July is fully online, with two Zoom events on the 7th and 25th July, and the storyline taking place through our very own, build-in-house Telegram chatbot! There is also an in-person event happening on Week 1 right here in our very own NUSC Campus, we are so excited to see you all in person!

These are timeslots for the two Zoom events on the 7th and 25th July. To allow you to be as flexible with your timing as possible, we offer two timeslots for the meetings. However, do take note that you need to participate in the same session for both events (ie it is not possible to participate in Session 1 for the 7th July event and Session 2 for the 25th July event)

Don’t worry! Our crew of friendly facilitators will be there to assist you should you face any technical difficulties. All of our games come with clear instructions, and are easy to understand and participate in.

O’Week NOW!

Yes, there will be 3 meals provided daily (excluding check-in day on the 28th of July), as well as additional refreshments throughout the camp!

O’Week NOW! offers a wide range of activities to introduce you to the diverse communities within NUSC. Prepare to explore everything NUSC has to offer, from academic talks and engaging games to relaxed arts-and-crafts sessions and trials of our various Interest Groups

If you have opted for accommodation during O’Week NOW!, the check-in will take place on 28th July. Detailed check-in instructions will be sent to your registered email address. Please keep an eye on your email for further information. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

The camp runs daily from 8.30am to 10.00pm. There will be time throughout the day to allow you to rest if needed. If you need a break, feel free to inform our friendly facilitators!

We still encourage you to attend O’Week NOW! even if you can’t attend the entire duration! Just inform us in advance about your availability, and notify your facilitators on the day itself before you leave.

Yes, parents are welcome to observe the camp activities. However, refreshments will be provided for parents only during the first three days. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us.

Explore NOW!

The tours are open to all NUSC Y1 students, including both local and international students

Most tours will be capped at about 15 participants, with some exceptions that will be made known to students signing up!

Sign-ups will begin in mid-July and remain open until Day 2 of orientation. Slots are limited and allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis, so do sign up early! You may sign up for more than one tour, but priority will be given to those who have not joined any tours yet!

The tours are fully subsidised, including transport and meals. Participants will also receive an allowance to settle lunch.

Each group will be led by NUSC students from Y2, Y3 or Y3 who will facilitate the tour, share stories and ensure everything runs smoothly

Our mixer events featuring food tastings, NDP celebrations, and meetings with students from diverse international backgrounds, are primarily aimed at international students. However, Singaporean students are also welcome to join if they are interested!

Community NOW!

We have weekly programmes (volunteering with elderly and children) as well as ad hoc opportunities! All Community NOW! volunteering will end around October, before your end-of-semester exams.

Nope! Community NOW! seeks to provide opportunities for all NUSC students (including Y2 and above) who are keen to serve. All we ask for is your time and passion! Volunteers are able to participate in programme planning, working in conjunction with their peers to contribute their unique strengths in serving the community
