GLOBAL ENTREPRENEUR+ TRACK
Impact Experience (Southeast Asia)
Here at NUS College, learning doesn’t just happen in our classrooms, but we also take learning out into the world. Impact Experiences (IEx) is a key part of that mission and is designed as a required, eight-unit capstone course that is all about the way we make a positive difference to the world.
Students will work in interdisciplinary teams to collaborate with non-profit partners and innovate future solutions for the benefit of communities and society – in Singapore and beyond. IEx is envisioned as a two-year course so that student groups, stakeholders, partners, and community, can have more time to realise the impact of their projects. Senior students would have also developed new skills and gained valuable insights from the Global Pathways Programme, which will enable greater synergies in the impact and real-life application of their IEx projects.
The IEx journey includes a Hackathon and guest lectures. Students also engage with community partners to design, pitch and execute their projects. At the end of the course, students will showcase their findings and reflections in an Impact Festival under the guidance of the Creative Practices Collective.
Summer International Internship Programme (SIIP)
NUS College Summer International Internship Programme (NUSC SIIP) encourages students to apply their skills in various cultural and organisational settings, enhancing their professional competencies and cultural awareness.
SIIP follows our NUSC internship principles of Interdisciplinary, Bespoke and Mentored experiences. Internships will promote cross-functional learning, tailored experiences beyond the classroom, and guidance from experienced supervisors. In addition, SIIP will not only provide NUSC students the experience of working overseas but also the opportunity to immerse themselves in issues of concern to local communities and work towards social good.
Our partner organisations are closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and are committed to making a positive impact with the communities they work closely with.
Some of our partners include:
