NUS College (NUSC) achieved a proud milestone at this year’s Commencement Class Giving 2025, coming in third in our inaugural competition at the faculty level across the University. This result reflects the generosity and solidarity of the NUSC-University Scholars Programme (USP) Class of 2025 who rallied together to make a meaningful, collective impact.
2025 Class Champions celebrate their campaign’s success.
Stepping into the faculty category competition for the first time, NUSC approached Class Giving with a simple goal: to pay it forward for future cohorts while strengthening a culture of care and community.
An enthusiastic team of nine dedicated Class Champions spearheaded this year’s effort. They coordinated outreach across the College, with the campaign featuring some snazzy dance moves at the End-of-Semester Dinner as well as the Commencement Dinner.
The outcome? A first-ever, third spot for NUS College, topped off with a strong showing in participation and funds raised, reflecting how deeply the “USPirit” of giving has taken root among our students.
Beyond the friendly competition, the Class Giving campaign offers our graduating class a truly unique opportunity to mark Commencement in a way that extends beyond individual achievement; it underscores the importance of opening doors for others who come after them.

The Class Champions’ final appeal at the Commencement Dinner to encourage peers to pay it forward.
The purpose of Class Giving lies not in the amount raised, but in the level of participation, hence amplifying the heart of classmates encouraging fellow peers to be part of something bigger than themselves.
Contributions from the Class Giving campaign also help sustain and expand the opportunities that define an NUSC education.
Each gift not only ensures accessibility to opportunities for all students, but also empowers them to explore with curiosity and contribute meaningfully to society. Class Champion Jeff Chin (Political Science & History + NUSC [USP]’25) shared his motivations to contribute to both the planning of the Commencement Dinner and campaign, “I chose to invest my time as a Class Champion because I wanted to give back to the community after benefiting so much from the resources provided by USP and NUSC. These resources have supported my intellectual growth, opened new pathways for me to explore and enriched my university experience over the past four years. Giving back is thus my way of helping to ensure that others and future generations of NUSC students continue to enjoy similar, if not greater, access to these experiences!”
Commencement marks the start of a new chapter, but it also reminds us of the many relationships and resources that shape a student’s journey. By coming together for Class Giving, the Class of 2025 has helped to strengthen a culture where generosity and gratitude go hand in hand.
“In choosing to mark this achievement by giving to the campaign and planning the Commencement Dinner, you’ve played a tremendous part in enriching the NUS College community. Your collective support will make a lasting difference for the classes to come as they chart their own paths,” shared Associate Prof Quek Su Ying, Vice Dean (Outreach), NUSC.
