Student Exchange Programme (SEP)

In NUS College classrooms, you will learn about things happening in the wider world and we want your College experience to literally take you there. The Student Exchange Programme (SEP) aims to crystallise the foundational learning of global perspectives and world issues that happens in our classrooms, through an immersive and transformative experience at a partner university.

Through SEP, outgoing students will have the opportunity to live and learn in a completely different environment. That means not only exploring fresh perspectives and alternative approaches to your subjects of study, but also the chance to immerse yourself in new cultures, make new friends, and experience places that maybe only existed in a book, or on a screen.

NUS College students may apply for SEP either through NUS College and/or their degree-bearing faculty, but they must only accept one offer. In addition to University-wide exchange programmes, NUS College offers exclusive exchange programmes with the following partner universities to its students:

Peking University Yuanpei College
Rikkyo University
Seoul National University
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Here are the academic considerations to take into account before you apply.

Joining NUS College on exchange?

Welcome! NUS College hosts incoming students from Faculty-level exchange partnerships, as well as honours college students from University-wide partnerships.

We warmly welcome exchange students to join our tight-knit, collegial community, and aim to provide them with a holistic living and learning experience. Exchange students are guaranteed a room on-site at our Cinnamon or West Wing residence, and are required to take two NUS College courses per semester.

When you arrive, the NUS College Club will pair each exchange student with a buddy to help familiarise you with Singapore and NUS. We encourage all incoming students to participate in our activities for a full experience of NUS College residential life.

See our Global Relations Office’s Incoming Exchangers page for more information about NUS’ Student Exchange Programme.
